These limited runs are great opportunities to save a few bucks on a classic design, and get a totally unique piece you won't find anywhere else. Marlondo Leather's water buffalo leather is chrome tanned and available in black, dark brown, and tobacco colors. The deep soft fur will make the buffalo robe/hide the most luxurious rug you have ever owned. Water buffalo leather has long been used in top-of-the-line leather goods, including wallets, leather duffel bags, leather backpacks, and boots. It’s a proven leather with many high end applications and applications that require durability and longevity. Buffalo robes/hides are absolutely perfect as a rug in front of the fireplace, at the foot of the couch, or use a buffalo robe/hide to accent a beautiful hardwood floor. Dressage riders benefit from the comfort and grip of a water buffalo leather saddle or knee block. Its textured surface and impressive durability has caused it to become a favorite in the equestrian community, where it is sometimes called memel leather. Water buffalo leather is known for its natural grain and supple feel. These strong, hardy animals can be found in both plains and marshes, and provide large, durable hides. The Asian water buffalo is plentiful throughout the Asian subcontinent, useful for tilling fields and producing nutrient-rich milk. Second Grade hides on the other hand, have thick hair in a few sections but when you flip them to the back you may notice patches in the hide. These hides are tanned into leather and NOT sold as furs. This option is great for people who want to save a bit of money while still getting the top-notch quality and craftsmanship of Marlondo's leather bag designs. Leather grade buffalo hides are mostly summer hides with shorter hair. Recently, Marlondo Leather has added many new water buffalo leather bags to the product line, as well as debuting a new water buffalo leather option for many classic designs. Our water buffalo leather is a bit lighter than our veg-tan cowhide, with a more visible grain and a subtle matte finish.
